Blood Donations to BMH

The Blood Alliance

The Blood Alliance became the sole provider of Beaufort Memorial’s blood supply on February 1, 2003.

This transition was made possible by the support of Beaufort County residents, who recognize the benefits of maintaining a community blood supply.

Why a Partnership between BMH and The Blood Alliance Makes Sense

  • The transition to The Blood Alliance blood supply means the hospital is less dependent on national blood sources for blood products, and has a dedicated, community blood supply for BMH patients.
  • The Blood Alliance offers local donors two unique advantages:
    • It makes the local community its priority, ensuring that an adequate supply of blood products is available
    • Community residents are eligible to participate in the Recipient Benefits Plan. This program allows businesses, churches, civic organizations or individuals that donate blood to be eligible for extra benefits that include a "credit" system.
